Task Assistant covers all activities, in all locations, with basic quality and communications support. Each optional plug-in then provides detailed support for a specific aspect of these activities. Task Assistant is fully customisable to each client's organisational structure and processes/working practices and is fully scalable to meet future needs.
The Task Assistant platform is a Win32 ActiveX executable installed on desktop client machines. It is launched from the desktop and provides the user with task oriented access to core technology and application plug-ins, in accordance with the defined business model. The Platform is also responsible for initialising the platform subsystems.
The Document Management Plug-in consists of a collection of ActiveX DLLs installed on client desktop machines. The plug-in provides facilities for integrating document-based resources, such as reference manuals and forms, into the task oriented business model provided by the Task Assistant platform and its subsystems.
The Workbench plug-in consists of a collection of ActiveX Documents, for hosting within the Platform, installed on the client desktop machine.
The Communications Assistant (CA) Plug-in consists of an ActiveX Document, for hosting within the Platform and a collection of ActiveX DLLs. These components are installed on the client desktop machine.
The applications suite is a collection of Task Assistant plug-ins that provide specialised support for the roles and tasks of the business user. Each plug-in was custom developed and optimised to take full advantage of the Task Assistant platform.
