The Task Assistant® Platform through the Configuration Workbench provides features and functionality for each of the offered applications, that allow a high level of configuration and adaptation of the each company's unique processes, as follows:
Full-capability configuration facility: Enables the adopting organisation to configure the system to match its specific requirements, thereby enhancing the system’s applicability.
User-friendly, MS-Office type functionality adopted for workbench functions: Valuing common industry applicability, the system’s workbench is designed to be easily managed by an administrator who has the required domain expertise and normal MS office IT skills to configure the system to best suit its business process requirements. This ensures that the system can be set up rapidly, accurately and with relatively low resource costs.
Well-planned search facilities throughout the workbench features: This helps to rapidly locate information existing within the system to facilitate linking between role-task-context-archives.
Automated history tracking for forms and manual sections: This feature conveniently tracks, updates and retains the status history of each form/manual section within the system.
Ability to configure task-centric folders and information types: Workbench allows each task to have its specific set of folders containing the relevant historic information on the particular task. This has been proven to be very effective in location of useful, task-based information rapidly and accurately, without the user having to guess or sift through silos of data each time he needs to get info on the task at hand.
Unique Update facility permits the Administrator to prepare an update package for the fleet, group of vessels or independent vessels as applicable: This feature allows the creation and address coding of updates and information directly and precisely to the correct recipient vessels. This ensures that if the system is used as intended, the entire fleet is rapidly, uniformly and cost-effectively updated at all times with the latest data.
Selective updating facility: The system provides the Administrator the facility to specifically choose to form an update pack for the entire system or to selectively update only (or a combination of) the manuals, forms or database. This results in better transmission economy and savings in communication costs.
Intuitive layout and non-cluttered design for each functional screen: Well-researched choice of icons, layout and functionalities strategically arranged and limited to ensure that sufficient workbench functionality is afforded without excessive navigation, confusion or fragmentation.
Low Administrator Training /Costs: Due to the intuitive and user-friendly architecture and layout of the workbench, the Administrator of the system requires relatively lesser training. This results in quicker, more cost-effective implementation, administration and deployment.
Safety measures incorporated to facilitate recovery to original state in case of erroneous usage: Stability and robustness of the system ensures that the possibility of fatal errors are minimised and that system recovery is ensured in case of any failure/crash.
