LEADING ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION GROUP SELECTS ULYSSES SYSTEMS' TASK ASSISTANT' FOR INTERNAL WORKFLOW PROCESSES

DETROIT 15 April 2002: O'Brien's Oil Pollution Service, Inc., the largest qualified individual and spill response management provider in North America, has selected Ulysses Systems' Task Assistant' software to coordinate all its internal workflow processes, according to company president and founder Jim O'Brien.

"Our company provides a wide range of maritime safety and environmental protection consulting services to industries around the world, " O'Brien said, "and we were looking for a way to manage the large amount of information that flows through our offices from the various emergency and/or training locations where our teams are involved. We think Task Assistant will help us do this more quickly and efficiently".

"In addition, it will allow all of our team members to access important procedural and regulatory documents that are an important part of hazardous materials control and containment," he added.

O'Brien went on to describe a variety of specific internal functions that Task Assistant will be used to support and coordinate, including updating customer information, revising documents, distributing updates to clients, as well as providing checklists and other forms that can be completed, reviewed and approved electronically, instead of relying on paperwork.

The program will manage the company's critical publishing tasks by providing simplified and more efficient ways to computerize the creation, updating and dissemination of a huge volume of physical documents crucial to its success.

Initially designed and marketed as a groundbreaking software system for ship management, Task Assistant has been found to be just as effective for any number of other industries in which complex workflow processes need to be detailed and documented step-by-step, task-by-task according to different job functions. The program provides personnel with a variety of forms and checklists, along with access to online manuals, documents, records or company communications they may need. It guides the user and keeps records of every interaction, including every message and every completed task.
